Security Project Manager

September 2021 – August 2022

  • Successfully picked up ailing project with 3 previous PMs, and obtained ISO27001 certification for Mazars LLP within challenging timeline and resource parameters. The scope (SoA) for certification grew to include all UK locations and all controls.
  • As part of the ISO27001 project, organised and chaired monthly Information Security Management System (ISMS) steering committees with top senior management and stakeholders.

  • Asked to fill the position IT Manager by the Head of Shared Services shortly into my tenure after previous manager resigned. Ran BAU activities, projects and transformed the IT Dept into a viable state.
  • Ensured the department was overhauled, eliminating negative cultures, unproductive mentalities and transformed the mindset towards positive and original thinking. Building on successes increased motivation, belief within the teams and perpetuated further successes.
  • Transformed the working relationship of the IT department with the business from recluse and reactive, to engaging and proactive.
  • Initiated a business-lead portfolio for FYE2022 via a series of workshops with the SMT and ensured cross-departmental cooperation when composing their requirements. Ended a 6-year habit of isolated practices, bolt-on requirements and shadow IT.
  • Established a Service Catalogue to map the IT estate, so Everest  could better track annual budgets, forecasts and service provisions.
  • Introduction and setup of an array of preferred IT suppliers, including direct channel distribution of EUC hardware.
  • Became a technical contact for supplier negotiations and headed several RFT processes driven by business mapped requirements, internal capabilities and strategic direction to ensure ‘fit-for-future’.
  • Advanced and mapped regular supplier reviews, highlighting irregularities to the IT team who may not have been so informed to industry best practices.

  • Most senior International Project Manager for Enterprise Technology Business Engagement (IT) department.
  • Spearheaded major office relocations, working closely with Global Real Estate department and senior stakeholders.
  • Winner of ‘Gem’ award for Amsterdam Relocation Project.
  • Worked closely with Project Management Office to refine and steer governance practices and artefact standards.

  • Delivered major international Office 365 Programme, which included an overhaul of hardware, introduction of software deployment solution SCCM, with comprehensive package library, complete AD refresh, O365 deployment and transition to BAU.
  • Responsible for all programme communications, including but not limited to global updates, newsletters, granular coordination, weekly targeted stakeholder updates, and general marketing / PR notifications to ensure user preparation and post-migration adoption. Due to limited resources, personally trained IT Support teams in preparation for transition, led training workshops for central hubs and produced training videos to ensure training could be scaled throughout the organisation.
  • Resource management and coordination of follow-the-sun Global Support Desks (US, AU&NZ, UK, CEU) to ensure timely success, quality and global alignment of the O365 Project. Creation of technical documentation, ensured knowledge to support functions.
  • Accountable for UK Network Refresh which delivered a complete overhaul of the network platform to the UK’s Hubs, data centres and 50+ Point of Sales (POS) locations.
  • Creation and championing of various artefacts to strengthen the PMO’s project delivery standardisation.
  • Awarded ‘IT Hero of the Month’, 4 months into the role.

  • Portfolio management of upwards of 50 projects of varying sizes for the IT department; reporting to senior management, constraint resolution and critical resources management.
  • Communication of portfolio to other Sony divisions and central PMO for purposes of delivery scheduling and resource planning.
  • Manipulation of MS Sharepoint functions to effectively map, manage and communicate a large portfolio to all stakeholders. Further adaptation of this site allowed for rapid acceleration in project initiation for delivery teams, and historic projects served as best practice templates to guide teams in the future.
